Welcome to fellow shooting enthusiast! I hope you enjoy our site, find it educational, and entertaining. I have been a shooter since I was a teenager. Way back in the Jurassic Age (1972) I became interested in law enforcement as a career and joined the local Police Explorer Post. I almost instantly fell in love with the job. Of course, some of the tools used in the job were firearms. So I naturally gravitated toward learning about them and using them. Over my thirty-nine year law enforcement career I have been a Dispatcher, a Reserve Deputy Sheriff, a Reserve Police Officer, a full-time Police Officer, a Cross-sworn Federal Agent, and a Detective. I have worked in Communications, Patrol, Gangs, Narcotics, Burglary, Vice and Auto Theft. A very large portion of my career involved working in an undercover or plainclothes capacity. I retired from the Escondido Police Department in 2014. I have been married to my wonderful and supportive wife, Colleen, for over 34 years. We have no children, but have two cats who act like children. Besides a big interest in firearms and shooting, I am also an avid motorcycle rider; riding with two separate 99% clubs. My other interest is in music where I regularly butcher a piano and hurt the ears of most of the dogs in the neighborhood. So, once again, welcome to I look forward to writing for you. If you have any questions or comments, by all means feel free to e-mail me at . Just remember, I am an “old retired dude” and may be on the road sometimes. But I promise I will get back to you as I can.
